Performs a variety of clerical, secretarial, and support duties in the Hamlet Depot and Museum.
Distinguishing Features of the Class
An employee in this class performs a variety of public contact, clerical, and administrative and technical support duties for the Depot and Museum Director. This position is responsible for maintaining records, providing customer service, managing customer complaints, data entry, and other related office duties.
Work is technical in nature and requires a broad knowledge of City history and departmental functions, policies and procedures and handling a variety of general and inquiries from citizens and visitors.
Duties and Responsibilities Work
Provides coverage for the reception desk, admissions, and tours. Assist in gift shop as needed.
Relieve staff to perform other duties as required.
Assists with museum events, exhibits, programs, and after-hours events as needed.
Assists with social media posts/marketing of events for depot and museum and Visithamletnc.
Assists with cleaning and maintaining the museum facility and exhibits.
Assists with research and development of specific exhibits.
Assists with care and cataloguing of collections.

Provide assistance and information for visitors, conduct guided tours, demonstrate exhibits as directed and assist with use of equipment such as audio visual.
Ensure the highest standards of customer care are in place at all times to provide an excellent experience for all visitors.
Take queries and enquiries from visitors over the telephone, answering these where information is available and taking details/messages to pass on to other colleagues where appropriate.
Assist in ensuring the security of the museum, its collections, fixtures and fittings, public/visitors and staff by patrolling the site, and supervising visitors as appropriate. This will include assisting members of the public to leave the building in the event of an evacuation.
Key holding: opening and closing the building on occasions. General premises safety, including building security and the prompt reporting of any defects.
Support wider events programs in appropriate ways; help plan and deliver events and activity sessions; facilitate group and school visits; assist with meetings and functions.
Set up and dismantle stands, equipment and exhibitions; move furniture and exhibits.
Collection, creation, delivery and distribution of publicity material and/or other items.
Provides administrative support for meetings as assigned, including scheduling meetings and preparing minutes
Provides administrative support by typing correspondence, reports, documents, public notices and other material, as required
Promptly answers in-coming calls, routes callers, and provides information as required
Maintains inventories of office supplies and materials
Organizes and maintains departmental records and files in appropriate filing system
Performs other related work as required

Performs responsible semi-skilled work driving and operating a sanitation packer truck and trash truck for the collection of residential trash and garbage.
Distinguishing Features of the Class
An employee in this class works as a member of a garbage and refuse collection crew. Employee operates sanitation packer trucks on assigned residential routes to collect and dispose of garbage and refuse. Employees may also be assigned to operate a dump truck with a trailer on an assigned route to pick up curbside trash. Work is performed under the regular supervision of the Sanitation Crew Leader.

Essential Duties and Tasks
· Drives sanitation packer truck over prescribed routes to collect refuse and trash and to transport it to established disposal areas; operates a packer truck equipped with a hydraulic mechanism to dump refuse
· Drives a truck with a trailer to pick-up curbside trash including furniture, tires, and some yard waste; lifts heavy materials into the bed of the truck
· Walks along a designated route to collect garbage and refuse; empties refuse containers into a loader packer truck; operates packer mechanism; assists in emptying load at the appropriate location
· Works on a crew to collect and dispose of yard waste; cleans up street area
· Informs the supervisor of substandard refuse containers
· Checks trucks for fluid levels, tire pressure and performs other routine preventive maintenance
· Assists in washing and cleaning of sanitation trucks
· Assists with sorting various solid waste items for proper disposal
· May answer questions from citizens regarding sanitation procedures
· Assists with other sanitation or public works crews as needed

An employee in this class performs a variety of grounds maintenance and landscape functions to include mowing, edging, lawn watering, seeding and sprigging grass, spreading fertilizers, dispensing herbicides, raking, pruning, weeding, tilling and various other grounds maintenance duties. Work is performed under the regular supervision of the Landscaping Crew Leader.

Job description
An employee in this class participates in the operations of fire suppression and emergency medical services on an assigned shift. The employee performs a variety of technical, procedural, and regulatory methods and techniques relating to fire suppression and prevention, rescue, first aid, and equipment and apparatus operation. Responds to emergency situations requiring emergency medical attention and performs duties of an EMT/Paramedic. Acquires and maintains required State certification for Firefighter I and EMT/Paramedic. Work is performed under general supervision of the Fire Lieutenant
